AB Bank Zambia Awarded at Bankers' Ball


AB Bank Zambia was given an award in recognition of the launch of tailor made microfinance products suite by a commercial bank at a Banker’s Ball which was hosted by the Bankers Association of Zambia on Wednesday the 16th of November 2011.

Chief Operations Officer Karin Everding of AB Bank Zambia accepted the award on behalf of AB Bank which was presented to her by Bank of Zambia Deputy Governor for Operations Dr Bwalya Ng’andu, and Bankers' Association of Zambia chairperson Mrs.Mizinga Melu. The Bankers' Association of Zambia is an industry body representing all registered banks in Zambia.

AB Bank Zambia started its operations in October 2011 and constitutes the seventh bank in the network of majority shareholder Access Microfinance Holding, based in Berlin. Together with FMO (Netherlands Development Finance Company), IFC (International Finance Corporation – World Bank Group), KfW (German Development Bank), and Rural Impulse Fund (Incofin Investment Management) the shareholders already invested 30 billion Kwacha in the build-up of the institution which targets micro and small entrepreneurs as well as low and middle income households in Zambia.
